| Special Restrictions | Masonry students must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to climb and work on ladders and scaffolding. It is recommended that all students have at least a 5.0 academic level per the TABE test. | |
| Course Description | Students will be introduced to the field of brick and block masonry. The course will include shop safety as well as job safety procedures. Students will be introduced to industry job classification and types of construction jobs, hand tools, power tools, mathematics for masons, job estimating, masonry units, basic plan reading, mortars and their ratio and proportions, lead and wall building of various sizes of masonry units. | |
