Why Diversity and Inclusion

Oklahoma's Career and Technology Education System's ability to innovate, create, and remain globally competitive hinges on its ability to attract and retain talent. We are committed to creating a systemic culture that values diversity and inclusion linked to our business practices and accountability metrics. We realize that building this culture is a long-term commitment. It is an integral component of creating learning communities and environments where people feel safe, respected, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. This highlights the CareerTech System's current efforts and our future-focused Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan.


As the United States become increasingly diverse and technology continues to "shrink" our world, we all have growing opportunities to work, play, and interact with a rich diversity of people from varying backgrounds. At the Oklahoma Department of CareerTech, diversity is viewed from a broad perspective that includes many dimensions.
