You are invited to attend Girls Coding this summer.
Girls Coding is intense and immersed professional learning where teachers, alongside their own students, learn how to shift from teaching in a typical classroom to using code. This is all about being hands-on.
At Girls Coding, teams of teachers and students come together to experience a coding event. Various modules give students the opportunity to learn to code.
Teachers leave Girls Coding KNOWING how coding in the classroom can be managed; UNDERSTANDING how a coding curriculum operates regarding time, space, activities, materials, and academic learning; and ready to begin BUILDING their own programs in their own schools with a seed set of students who all have a common understanding of operation and the exciting engagement of coding.
Teachers who wish to attend Girls Coding must first apply. We are accepting applications from teams of two teachers who will commit to attending each day and bringing a team of five students.
The first step to applying is to put your team together. Then complete the application below.
Girls Coding will highlight nontraditional career options and workers in nontraditional careers will speak to students. The camps will give teachers strategies to present nontraditional careers to students in order to help them make career choices.
