GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Performs responsible instructional level duties under limited supervision to teach the classes/labs assigned leading to placement of students on jobs; prepares task analysis; advises students; grades reports, tests, and progress; and advises the supervisor concerning textbooks, special equipment, supplies, or other needs. Attends meetings and participates in overall quality of program and school. An incumbent in this position will utilize discretion, ingenuity, and independent judgment due to the complexity of the job.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Associate’s Degree acceptable with requirement to achieve a Bachelor’s degree.
Credentials: Qualify for BMITE Teacher Certification through the OK Department of Career and Technology Education Certification in .NET, Java, C++ and/or C#, or the ability to obtain certification in one or more of these areas
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Additional certifications may be required for special program areas
Special Knowledge, Skill, or Ability:
§ General knowledge of multiple programming languages including, but not limited to Java, C++, C# and .NET
§ Skill and knowledge in multiple mobile app platforms
§ Knowledge of programming and software development using multiple operating systems to include Windows, Linux, Android and Apple
§ Understanding of application/cloud development., Comprehensive understanding of object oriented programming, application programming interface, & systems design/software configuration management
§ Model appropriate interpersonal skills (communications, teamwork, & networking with stakeholders)
§ Lecture and demonstration skills
§ Creativity & Critical Thinking and Project Management abilities
§ Ability to instruct and evaluate
§ Ability to observe, recognize, and interpret
§ Excellent oral and written communication skills
§ Satisfactory personal conduct and integrity
§ Ability to work well with others
§ Reliable, dependable, and punctual attendance
Experience: At least three years successful occupational experience in the skill area to be taught, said skill to have been the major assignment in the experience.
