Workers' Compensation Procedures

All staff members are covered by workers' compensation insurance for  work related injury or illness.  In the event of a documented injury or illness the policy will provide 1) payment of 100 percent of eligible medical expenses, and 2) weekly benefits for medically necessary time off in excess of three consecutive working days.

If medical attention is required, call your family physician or in a true emergency, go to the nearest emergency room.

Notify your supervisor.

Call or email Liz Walton at ext. 481 on the day of the injury.

The injured person must submit to Human Resources a written description of the accident with dates, times, and names of witnesses within 48 hours.

The immediate supervisor must complete, within 48 hours, the Supervisor Accident Incident Report form and submit it to Liz Walton. 

Notify Liz Walton in Human Resources immediately if you are medically unable to work for more than three consecutive days.

Notify Liz Walton in Human Resources the day you return to work.

Submit a leave entry showing the days of sick leave, compensatory time, annual leave or leave without pay taken for the days off work.
