Accreditation
The Oklahoma State Board of Career and Technology Education is recognized by the United
States Department of Education as the “authority for the approval of public postsecondary
vocational education programs and courses offered at vocational-technical education
institutions that are not offered for college credit.” This recognition establishes the State
Board as the accrediting body for the technology centers in Oklahoma. It further requires the
State Board to establish policies and standards pertaining to the accreditation process.
The policies set forth by the State Board are published in Rules for Career and Technology
Education, which is available through the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology
Education.
