New Endorsements

Agricultural Communications - The Oklahoma State University Agriculture Education Communications and Leadership Department has endorsed CTTC's Entry Level Agricultural Communications Specialist standards and test.  With this endorsement, the test has been renamed from 46904 to 26904.  Oklahoma Department of Education also approved this course/test for one (1) elective fine arts speech credit.  The course can only be used for one credit, so the course credit must be designated at the time of class enrollment.

NAHB - The CareerTech Testing Center has received an endorsement from the National Association of Home Builders – Home Builders Institute.  The NAHB is a Washington, D.C.-based trade association whose broad mission is to enhance the climate for housing, home ownership and the residential building industry. The HBI - the workforce development arm of NAHB - is dedicated to advancing the quality of craft education and training programs, promoting career opportunities and serving the general needs of the housing industry.

The HBI has endorsed the following standards:

23001 Construction Trainee
23002 Carpentry-Drywall Installation Trainee
23003 Carpentry-Finish Carpenter
23004 Carpentry-Form Carpenter
23005 Carpentry-Frame Carpenter
23006 Carpentry-Roofer
23101 Cabinetmaker Helper

All of the standards listed above are aligned to NAHB-HBI Residential Carpentry Standards and NCCER’s Carpentry Standards, Cabinetmaking Standards, and Core Introductory Craft Skills.

*Important Reminder - As the 2012-2013 school year progresses, please be aware of the following changes for access to the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education online competency assessments -

Every Testing Liaison and Proctor is required to complete the Testing Liaison Basic Training and pass the quiz at the end of the training.  This online training can be accessed at http://www.okcareertech.org/testing/PDF_Docs/TL_Basic_Training.pdf .

After the Testing Liaison and/or Proctor passes the quiz, an auto-generated email will be sent to our office.  We will then email you the Testing Liaison Confidentiality Agreement & Designation Form and the 2012-2013 Competency Assessment Order Form.  Every Testing Liaison should complete these forms and return them to our office.

After we receive these forms, we will email you a username and password for access to the assessments that were selected on the 2012-2013 Competency Assessment Order Form.

Competency Certificates

We are currently printing and mailing competency certificates every other week.  Printing occurs on Fridays, and certificates are normally mailed out by the following Monday. These are mailed to each school's testing liaison for distribution.   As the end of each school term approaches, we will increase the frequency of printing and distribution as testing increases.  For information concerning reprints of incorrectly printed certificates, please see below.

Notice to Testing Liaisons:  Certificate Errors

Please make certain student names are spelled and capitalized correctly when entered into the online system.  Due to the expense and sheer volume of certificates that need to be printed and mailed, there will be a $5.00 per certificate charge for reprint due to input error on your end.  Payment should be in the form of a P.O., school credit card, or money order payable to CIMC.  Their mailing address is 1500 W. Seventh Ave., Stillwater, OK  74074.

If input error is made on our end we will reprint the certificate free of charge.  In both cases, please send an email to - Deborah_Whitlow@okcareertech.org with the following information –

  • Your username
  • School Name
  • Student's Name
  • Competency exam passes
