Instructor's
Summer Program of Work
June,
July, August
- The
instructor should construct a summer calendar to be submitted to the
administration. He/She should
also be easily contacted during the summer months.
- The
instructor should maintain a schedule of regular visits to students' homes
and the school farm to supervise projects.
- The
instructor should maintain a schedule of regular visits to students in
worksite SAEs.
(Note:
the instructor determines the frequency of the visits)
- The
instructor should clean, organize, and inventory the classroom and shop.
- The
instructor should do light maintenance on the facility if needed.
- The
instructor should clean, organize, and inventory the metal storage area
outside the facility.
- The
instructor should clean, organize, inventory, and maintain the school farm.
- Coordinate
and distribute summer activity dates to students.
- Attend
summer judging field days with students.
- Attend
summer livestock shows with student.
- Transport
students to and from summer leadership camps and activities such as show
lamb and cattle camp.
- Review
curriculum and modify course syllabi as needed.
- Order
new curriculum, equipment, etc. for upcoming school year.
- Develop
lesson plans.
- The
instructor should make business and industry contacts.
*Professional development workshops, organized
through OSU and the ODCTE, are held throughout the month of June.
It is highly recommended that instructors attend 1 or more workshops.
*Our Professional Organization holds it's annual
conference in June. Teachers are
encouraged to attend.
*Instructors are required to attend August Conference
for Careertech instructors.
*Instructors are entitled to two weeks vacation.
