Advisors say Nix the Best Price Clause

Document Actions
The Multiple Award Schedules Advisory Panel created last year to review GSA schedules advised President Obama to remove the requirement that vendors offer the GSA their best customer pricing.

NextGov.com said the final report will be released next week and GSA declined to comment until the report is released.

NextGov.com reported last September that the panel chairman, Elliot Branch, said at that time that "in most cases, (the government) is not the most favored customer."

The panel has been discussing the issue for months and finally recommended that the clause be removed because policy already requires that buyers get at least three quotes to determine competitive pricing.
