Are Doc Martins appropriate for business casual attire?

No, Doc Martins are not acceptable for anything other than the special event.

 

Are black tennis shoes appropriate for business casual attire?

No, athletic shoes are not acceptable for anything other than the special event.

 

The PowerPoint does not say no body piercing, so is that allowed this year?

No body piercing, other than ears, is acceptable. This is stated in the instructor's memo.

 

Are closed-toed dress shoes required for females?

No, the PowerPoint is a guide for high-end professional dress. Open-toed/open-heeled dress shoes are allowed for females. Nothing between the toes will be accepted.

 

Can females wear dress pants & a nice top for "judged events"? (It just says pantsuits or skirt & blouse, not specifying if pants and a nice top are acceptable).

Yes as long as they coordinate and are not low cut, short, etc.

 

In the PowerPoint presentation, it says not to wear print tops then list some solid colors (white, cream, red). Will they have their 100 points taken away if they wear a print top?

No, prints are acceptable as long as they are appropriate in length, cut, etc.

 

COMPETITIVE EVENTS

Can a student repeat an event that they entered and/or placed in last year?

The Events-at-a-Glance document outlines if an event is repeatable or not, as well as the guidelines.

 

How many sets of materials must be submitted for Interview Skills?

Only 2, there was a typo in the guidelines that is now corrected.

 

Can Extemporaneous Speech be repeated?

Yes
