Summer Conference

The ODCTE/OkACTE Summer Conference will be held August 4-6, 2008 in Oklahoma City. Once again this year, all divisions will register on-line. All participants are strongly encouraged to pre-register and pre-pay! This will mean a quicker, more efficient check-in time when you arrive at the conference. On-line registration also provides the opportunity for you to verify the personal information on record at the ODCTE.

Summer Conference Registration

Please visit http://www.okcareertech.org/confer/summer/register.htm to access the on-line registration form. The registration form is located on a secured site and will be available beginning May 1, 2008. When registering on-line, and not pre-paying, please be sure to print your registration form to accompany your check or cash payment when standing in line at registration. If you have pre-paid your conference registration or dues, print your receipt to present at the conference to help facilitate your check-in process when you arrive.

Early Bird Discount. Conference participants, who pre-register and pre-pay the general conference registration fee by July 25, will receive a $10 discount. The early bird registration fee is $50. On-site registration (after July 25) will be $60. To receive the discount, your paid registration must be received in the OkACTE office by July 25 . The only exception to this policy will be for employees who are new to the CareerTech system this year.

The Business, Marketing and Information Technology Education Division will meet at the Cox Convention Center for the first two days – August 4-5. The third day's sessions – August 6 – will be held at Francis Tuttle Technology Center on Rockwell Campus.

Regional SWATShops Scheduled

Regional in-service training sessions are being planned to help with career cluster implementation. ALL BMITE teachers will be required to attend a regional session that will be conducted by the BMITE staff. Sessions will last from 1:00-5:00 p.m.

Teachers will work with their curriculum to align to the new cluster pathways and career majors that will be required next year. These in-service training sessions will help instructors align their present curriculum to the new career majors offered.

Each instructor needs to plan on attending one session that best fits their schedule. Click here for a list of SWATShop dates and locations. For questions, contact Linnie Berkenbile.
