Kelly Arrington's Monthly E-Mailing

August 2009

Hello to all of you! I hope your school year has gotten off to a good start.  You are receiving these emails due to your student services position at your school or you have asked to be on it.  If you know of others who are not receiving this and would like to, let me know.  If you do NOT want to receive this monthly email, let me know and I will take you off my list.  (You can do this at any time.)

Summer Conference

Powerpoints/handouts from summer conference are posted on our CAC webpage (www.okcareertech.org/cac) and then click on Bulletin Board, then click on Summer Conference.   If you are a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and you have not already received an email from me about Summer Conference LPC points, it means you are not on my LPC list.  Please email me if you need LPC points for Summer Conference.

We are still working on stipend forms and the new computer system so the checks are NOT in the mail at this time.  Also, be aware that there will be different times that people will receive their check-they do not all go out at the same time.

A Change

Our disability services specialist, Kahle Goff has accepted a new position with Pioneer Tech as their SHARE/Special Programs counselor.  Kahle made quite an impact in the short time he was here and while we are happy for Kahle (and Pioneer), we are sad for us!  We wish him well in his new endeavor and know he will bring his trademark energy and humor to whatever he does.

Student Services Endorsement Program

We will be offering the Student Services Endorsement Program this year.  This is a series of five workshops at different locations that focus on different areas of student services and career and technology education in Oklahoma.  It is targeted towards newly hired student services staff.  However, we have had veteran staff attend and learn from it as well.  Here is the link to the application: http://www.okcareertech.org/cac/Pages/bulletin_board/bulletin_board2.htm

Then click on Student Services Endorsement Program.  The application has further information about the program as well, such as what will be covered and the rationale behind the training.
