General Session Information

 

Monday, August 4, 10:00am – 11:30am
Opening General Session (first general session) will be held in the arena of the Cox Convention Center on Monday, August 4 from 10:00am - 11:30am. The general session is for all conference participants. This session will include opening remarks from Dr. Phil Berkenbile, our state director. The OkACTE awards, The OkACTE President-Elect candidates will also be featured. Awards to be presented include Support Staff Member of the Year, Kaleidoscope, Pride, and Community Service, OAMCTE Scholarships. Other awards include, OATC Distinguished Achievement, and OkACTE Distinguished Service. Award recipients and nominees are asked to sit in reserved seating at the center front of the arena to maintain the pace of the program. Silver Key recipients will be honored at divisional award ceremonies.

Keynote speaker, Suzie Humphreys will close out this session with a fun and inspirational message you don't want to miss.

Monday, August 4, 1:30pm - 3:00 pm
The Second General Session: will be held in the arena of the Cox Convention Center Monday, August 4, from 1:30pm – 3:00pm. This is the business meeting of the OkACTE and includes the OkACTE President's Greeting and the OkACTE Executive Director's Address. Award presentations continue with the Gold Star School Awards, Arch Alexander Award, and the Francis Tuttle Award. Division honorees include Outstanding Educator, New Professional, Outstanding New Teacher, and Teacher-of-the-Year.
