This venue is near several hotels and restaurants and has plenty of free parking. The conference will feature sessions for elementary, middle school/junior high, high school and technology center counselors. This is a free conference. Since this is a free conference, there will be a concession area where you can purchase coffee, soft drinks and snacks.
We are currently working on the agenda and contacting speakers. Selected topics include: SDE ACT assessment update; social media for counselors; K12 partnerships; dealing with stress/conflict; suicide prevention; human trafficking, etc. The agenda will be posted on the registration link as soon as it is available. OKACTE Leadership Workshop
If you are interested in learning more about OkACTE and finding out about leadership opportunities available, consider Leadership OkACTE. Leadership OkACTE will be Wednesday, January 27 from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, Rockwell Campus – Room D1750. Various members will present their experiences in leadership. This program is an excellent way to receive association leadership information about opportunities on the state, region, and national levels. You will leave the sessions with more confidence and information you can implement when you return home. Don’t miss out on this opportunity! The cost is only $70 for members and $90 for non-members. Oklahoma Association of Minorities in Career and Technology Education (OAMCTE) Essay Contest 2015-2016
Every year, OAMCTE sponsors an essay contest for minority students. Students must meet all three of the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled and attending a Career and Technology Education class or program
- A high school junior or senior
- A member of a minority race
The essay theme is “Why I Chose Career and Technology Education as Part of My Career Pathway.”

We wished Dr. Claudia Otto good bye and good luck this month! Claudia, our disabilities services specialist, accepted an offer from OSU to be a graduate professor.
