Scholarship

The Oklahoma Association of Minorities in Career and Technology Education (OAMCTE) believes that educating young people in career and technology education is a positive step in providing role models for future generations of youth.  A scholarship program is offered to help advance that goal.  The scholarship program provides assistance to deserving minority students who plan to further their education through CareerTech.  Two (2) Renae Washington-Lorine DuBose Memorial Scholarships are offered in the amount of $1,000 each.  Applicants for the scholarship must plan to enroll in a full-time program at an Oklahoma Career and Technology Center or as a full time student in an accredited institution of higher learning for the Fall Semester of 2014 and the Spring Semester of 2015.  Applications must be post marked no later than April 25, 2014.  Application is attached.  If additional information is needed, please contact Rana McVay, Scholarship Committee Chairperson, at (918) 746-6189.

Do you have students struggling with their coursework?

Do you have students reading and/or writing below grade level?

Do you have students with disabilities attending your classes?

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions then this is the workshop for you!!!

The purpose of this workshop is to present information regarding characteristics, behaviors, and social skills of individuals diagnosed with Specific Learning Disability, Autism, and /or Attention Deficit Disorder / Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.  Research shows that direct attention and effective manipulation of classroom environment, behaviors, and instructional practice can enhance positive learning outcomes.  Best practice interventions for academics, behavior, and social skills interventions will be introduced.  This training is targeted to instructors so please share this with them.  A limited number of seats are available.  Cost is $30.

Workforce Oklahoma Partners Conference
