OkACTE Guidance Spring Workshop

Greetings from your OkACTE Executive Officer Team: Spring is in the air and registration is now open for the 2016 Spring Guidance Workshop. The conference is an opportunity to re-energize and refresh to finish the year with a smooth landing. This year’s conference will be held Friday, April 15th 8:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. in the Adventure District of Oklahoma City – Metro Technology Centers, Springlake Campus, Economic Development Center located at 1700 Springlake Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73111.  Registration is FREE to Primary and Secondary Members of the OkACTE Guidance Division.  We would love to have others attend and there will be a $25 dollar registration fee for those who are NOT primary or secondary OkACTE Guidance Members.  The registration link is below – it also has more information on the workshop

OK Career Guide Training Opportunities

Looking for in-person computer training, training webinars or on-demand training in the use of OK Career Guide? Search no more! The link below will provide you with access to on-demand pre-recorded webinars, registration for upcoming webinars, as well as registration for upcoming in-person, hands-on training workshops on OK Career Guide. We do have face to face trainings coming up in late March and early April.


June Mental Health First Aid for Youth/Adult Workshops

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) aims to provide knowledge and skills to potentially prevent a mental health emergency through early intervention and also how to navigate through such an emergency if one occurs. 

There will be three Mental Health First Aid Workshops for Youth/Adult in June.  Participants choose ONE workshop to attend.  (We wanted to have more than one choice available to you.)   The dates and locations are:
-June 1: Mental Health First Aid for Youth/Adult – Canadian Valley Tech Center, Yukon Campus
-June 2: Mental Health First Aid for Youth/Adult – ODCTE, Stillwater
-June 3: Mental Health First Aid for Youth/Adult – ODCTE, Stillwater

Refreshments, continental breakfast, lunch, materials, and workbook provided. Information on hotels will be sent to the participants at a later date, if needed.  There is a registration cost of $60 for materials and refreshments/meals.  (8 LPC/LMFT points for completion of the workshop)

We have four nationally certified trainers that will be delivering the training.  These trainers are:

Polly Bredy, Counselor, Caddo-Kiowa Technology Center
Peggy Castleberry, Counselor, Canadian Valley Technology Center
Karen Koehn, Counselor, Northwest Technology Center
