Summer Conference 2013
The conference website has been updated with specific "Super Session" topics along with session descriptions.  When you have a moment, please check out the six featured concurrent sessions.  I think the choice on which to attend will be difficult.   www.okcareertech.org/summer-conference/super-sessions

Transcripting

Don't forget: If you have any students who received a business and industry recognized credential (from the Type 1 or 2 list of exams) this year, please send that information to your partner schools so it can be placed on the student’s high school transcript. Here is statement from SB497 (passed in May 2009) pertaining to this requirement:

Senate Bill 497 – “Beginning with students who enter the 9th grade in 2008-2009 school year, school districts shall report the student’s performance levels of satisfactory and above on end of instruction tests and any business and industry-recognized endorsements attained on the high school transcript.”

Awards
The Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education will host its all-staff meeting June 3.  This year, in addition to professional development, the agency will recognize employees through the new CareerTech Staff Performance Awards program. The agency will present five awards: Innovation, Customer Focus, Team, Rising Star and Unsung Hero.  The agency is asking customers and stakeholders (agency personnel, field personnel and employees of other agencies with which ODCTE works) to nominate ODCTE staff members they feel deserve recognition. Nominations, which include a short questionnaire about why an employee deserves recognition, can be made at:
http://www.okcareertech.org/about/state-agency/careertech-awards Nominations are due May 14.
