New Teacher Academy
BMITE New Teacher Academy will be July 15-17, 2014, at Meridian Technology Center, Stillwater.
To register, click on Eventbrite to create an account. Select the Sign Up button in the upper right hand corner and complete the sign up process. After you have an account, come back to this page to select BMITE New Teacher Academy. Complete the registration as directed.

Please mention the “New Teacher Academy” room block. Give dates you will be checking in and out, in order to receive the discounted room rate. The hotel will accept Purchase Orders, by calling the hotel reservation department at 405.707.0588. Purchase Order arrangements must be made at the time of making the reservation. Guest room rate includes a Hot Breakfast Buffet and Evening Social.
The state rate of $89 will be honored after the cut-off date if the hotel has availability. The participant will need to indicate the group they are with for state business.
Follow-up dates will be September 24, November 4 (this is a change), and January 13, 2015, at Moore Norman Technology Center - South Penn Campus. All new CareerTech teachers are required to attend all six days of training.

Learn tricks for creating a top-quality program where students produce broadcasts for their local TV station. Participate in this one-day video project addressing how to set up a camera, production sets/lighting, shoot and edit video.

Learn how these instructors have taken their traditional BITE programs with average enrollment and turned them into programs that have a waiting list and are filled with high school students! Find out the methods they have adopted to create new interest and spark enrollment from sending high schools, and the connections that they have with their local businesses.
Topics include: technology used, iPads/tablets, apps, career majors, projects, curriculum, recruitment ideas, classroom management, connection with industry, connection with sending high schools, internships and job placement, incorporating BPA.
