Moss Family Attends Northeast Technology Center's Afton Campus Programs

By Gary Dotterer
Northeast Technology Center

Northeast Technology Center has made an impact on many lives throughout the years. Many of those individuals who have learned a skill and become successful in the workforce are too numerous to mention. The individuals in this story not only attended NTC but they all come from the same family.

Chryl and Joe Moss of Vinita have six children between them. Five of those children attended NTC's Afton Campus (North). It was this reporter's privilege to meet Ms. Moss recently at the National Technical Honor Society initiation ceremony at NTC where her daughter Shandi Moss was inducted as a member of the prestigious organization.

Shandi Moss the youngest of the five family members is currently a second year student in the Health Career Certifications Program working towards her CNA Certification. Shandi is a senior at Vinita High School and plans on attending college this fall.

"My husband and I gave advice to our children, and we said if they were not going to attend college they need to learn a trade or skill.”  Chryl Moss said.

Travis Laticker the eldest son attended the Welding Technology Program and currently owns his own construction business. Travis's construction company TNT Backhoe & Construction is located in Vinita. His wife Letrese works in the superintendent's office for Vinita High School.

Travis Moss, the second child attended the Carpentry Program and now is the production manager for Bennett Cahill Construction in Vinita. His wife Brandi works as a manager at the Movie Gallery in Vinita.

Terry Moss the third son attended the Masonry Program and currently works for C&L Supply in Vinita. Terry's wife Heather works at Arvest Bank in Vinita. Terry and Heather have two children.

Chris Laticker, the fourth son, completed the Automotive Collision Technology Program and works at Taylor Riggs in Catoosa. Chris's wife Lori works for Oklahoma State Bank in Vinita.

“We are very proud of all our children and their accomplishments” Chyrl Moss said.  “We are very pleased with Northeast Technology Center and the CareerTech system teaching our children a skill that they can use.  We are very proud of the success that each of them has had.”
