Canadian Valley Interactive Media Student Designs State BPA Pin

Chalk up yet another honor for Canadian Valley Technology Center’s Interactive Media and Web Technology students. Ken Treagesser, a second-year Canadian Valley student from Newcastle, recently won the BPA (Business Professionals of America) State Pin Design Contest

Every year at the BPA’s National Leadership Conference, each state provides a pin for members to trade with other states’ pins. The BPA Executive Council chose Treagesser’s design to be the Oklahoma’s BPA pin at the national conference in New York City this coming spring.

Treagesser came to Canadian Valley after working for more than 20 years in the design industry. After starting his own design company, Graphiken in Newcastle, he realized he needed more than just print design experience; he needed to learn web design. After researching all his options, he chose to come to Canadian Valley in Chickasha and take the Interactive Media and Web Technology program. It was not only closer for him, but it would give him the exact training he needed to strengthen his business on the Internet.

“Canadian Valley has worked out wonderfully for me,” said Treagesser. “I would encourage any adult looking to advance or improve their skills to check out Canadian Valley. The school has given me exactly what I need to make my business even more successful.”

Treagesser is a graduate from Henryetta High School. He attended East Central University in Ada for one year, and received two years of graphic design training at OSU-Okmulgee.

Earlier this year, an IMW team took first place at the national BPA conference in Orlando, Fla. Josh Reed and Randy McCauley, both of Chickasha, beat out 11 other teams to take first place in the Web Design Competition.
