DIBBLE YOUTH IMPACT CONTEST - WIN AN IPOD Just what we all want to know - what do teens say relationship classes have meant to them?  In their own words!  The Dibble Institute is sponsoring a contest for students to explain what has changed in their lives since taking a Connections, Love U2, Love Notes, Essential Disciplines, or Art of Loving Well class. Stipend/Reimbursement Notice - Effective January 1, 2010, We will no longer pay stipends for professional development to high school and Technology Center employees who are under contract at the time of the workshop or in-service activity. Summer Conference is the only exception.

Free Fabric! Thanks to a generous donation of  fabric from Cupid Intimates in Blackwell, OK, FACS teachers have the opportunity to pick up free fabric from the ODCTE Service Center at 601 N. Willis, Stillwater, OK. Fabric consists of various types of synthetic knits and yards of fiberfill lightly bonded to knits. Please plan to transport the entire long bolt (4' to 6') of fabric home as there are no cutting surfaces available. Directions to ODCTE Service Center   NOTE: Teachers wishing to send a thank you note for fabric should address it to:  Cupid Intimates. Attn: Marcy Montgomery Jones, 318 N. 29th Street, Blackwell, OK 74631 - If possible, please send pictures of student projects to your program specialist as an email attachment.

YW8 Training available: (say it like you text....Why Wait) It is an abstinence education group where YW8
teachers go into schools and promote abstinence through education in areas of relationships, boundary setting, conflict resolution, marriage commitment, character development, leadership skills, decision making, alcohol and drug prevention, self control and impulse control, academic achievement, conflict resolution, STD and pregnancy prevention, etc.  Teachers begin classes in the 6th grade and work through the high school years using age appropriate curriculum. Child Care Director Competency Test (27105)
- Effective October 20, 2008, the Child Care Director competency test (27105) pass score became 75%. If you have any questions, please contact Lori Laufer, Assessment Specialist, Testing, 405-743-6803 or llauf@okcareertech.org

Financial Literacy standards have been adopted and can be found on the Oklahoma State Department of Education website.  Remember, this requirement begins with students who are in 7th grade in 2008.  Financial literacy is a requirement for the Class of 2014!

Revised Safety Tests  -  Find new versions of the safety tests on the ICAT website at  http://icat.okcareertech.org/facs  under "FACS Courses/Resources".  Tests and answer keys are available to print as Word documents.
