The Governor's Council has been working with education and business to provide strategies and resources to help all Oklahomans be successful in their career paths. Learn more about the technical assistance available to schools to help students with disabilities make a smooth transition to postsecondary education or work. Assistance includes workshops, regional meetings, and teams to help develop transition plans. As a member of a team, you will also be able to network with service providers, teachers, and industry personnel to assist you in helping students succeed.

Research has also been done that focuses on guidance/counseling and advisement and how these strategies have helped students. Pathway to Postsecondary Success

The majority of students go to college right after high school. However, the majority of these students do not finish degree programs. This session will provide an overview of cooperative alliances (how students can earn college credit at a technology center) and practices that help students make a successful transition from secondary to postsecondary education and the completion of a degree.
Career and Technology Education: The Change to Career Majors

Jobs of the future will take a different type of training and instruction. Career and technology education is using the career cluster framework to help design this instruction. This session will provide information on the changes occurring in career and technology education.
