Project
Objectives
The objectives for year one of the grant
(2000) were:

Identify
nursing competencies common to each level of nursing education.

Develop a curricular grid to illustrate nursing concepts
and competencies at each level of nursing education.

Identify competencies to be articulated.
-
Explore mechanisms to award credit for identified
competencies.
The objectives for year one of
the grant (2001) were:

Develop a statewide articulation model based on the curricular
grid.

Obtain approval for a statewide articulation model based on the
curricular grid.

Disseminate the articulation model statewide.

Develop a plan to implement the model.

The objectives for year one of
the grant (2002-2004) were:

Obtain
approval from appropriate entities for a statewide articulation
model.

Identify
partnerships that will facilitate articulation between different
levels of nursing education

Obtain
commitment from partnerships to use common processes for awarding
academic credit.

Develop
a common bridge course to be used by all partnerships.
-
Explore
methods to advise students in participating programs.
-
Develop
a systematic evaluation plan to determine the effectiveness of the components
of the articulation model and student outcomes.
