Through a partnership with the Tulsa Port of Catoosa and Rogers State University, Tulsa Technology Center is providing on-premise training for managers and employees of Port industries, as well as the surrounding community. School officials and dignitaries gathered Wednesday, September 26th at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa for a barge ride and partnership signing ceremony.
The training facility at 5301 West Channel
Road, will be staffed and coordinated by Tulsa Tech and serve
over 50 industries and 2,500 employees now located at the 2,000-acre
Port, as well as the many industries located in the nearby vicinity.
Rogers State University will grant college credit through an
articulation agreement with Tulsa Tech. Manufacturing Technology
courses will be structured around Quality, Safety or Production
and may be applied toward an Associate of Applied Science Degree
in Applied Technology.
TTC and RSU have an additional articulation agreement available to TTC students enrolled in the following areas: carpentry technology, welding technology, machining technology, surgical technology, medium-heavy duty truck service, telecommunications, Cisco networking or manufacturing technology. Students may complete 30 hours of technical classes at TTC and 30 hours of general education classes at RSU for a total of 60 hours required to receive RSU's associate of applied science in applied technology. All general education classes at RSU may be completed via the Internet, or through traditional on-site instruction at RSU's main campus in Claremore. Students would then have the option of continuing their education at RSU to earn the bachelor of technology in applied technology (also available online) the only program of its kind in northeast Oklahoma. Rogers State University is a regional four-year university offering bachelor's and associate's degrees at its main campus in Claremore, at its branch campuses in Bartlesville and Pryor, and via the Internet.
