SEARS' commitment to DECA's advisors and members includes: National Advisory Board corporate membership Sponsorship of DECA's national Apparel and Accessories Competitive Event Development and distribution of recruitment and public relations tools Judge volunteers for DECA competitive events Local support for marketing education and DECA in the community SEARS stores across the country currently employ more than 3,000 marketing co-op students. SEARS managers find that marketing education students recruited through local DECA chapters are employees of quality. DECA advisors and members name SEARS as one of the ten most admired employers! SEARS is making possible a scholarship program for employees who are currently active DECA members! Your favorite student or employee may be eligible to win . . . A scholarship worth $1,000 Four scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded on the basis of applicant's Scholastic record SEARS experience DECA activities Leadership ability The winners may use their scholarship for any accredited post secondary college or university offering courses designed to prepare individuals for careers in marketing, management or marketing education. Who is eligible? Any active member of National DECA who: Is a SEARS employee, full or part-time. Intends to pursue full-time, a two- or four-year course of study in marketing, management or marketing education.
