Deca Lettering System
Each student in Marketing Education has the opportunity to participate in DECA and benefit from the organization. The purpose of this lettering point system is to reward the Marketing Education student who is a DECA member and does more than is required by the class. A student can do the minimum requirement of the class, earn their A grade, and be active in DECA, and potentially not letter. This student’s reward is the class credit and grade which is included in their grade point average with every other solid academic class they take. This grade is even included toward the Academic Letter given by the school. Mrs. Bull and Mrs. Swinehart want a different type of letter award to honor the student who goes beyond the minimum. Each activity a student does earn point(s) as explained below. We have tried to incorporate any Marketing Education/DECA activity a student does, not required by the class, in the system. If a student has a question about an activity, they are urged to ask their advisor. Once a student reaches 35 points (with no behavioral disqualifications) they have earned their letter.
