Students will elevate digital video skills to include training in a professional editing suite utilizing a variety of advanced techniques.

Knowledge and Skills
- Perform advanced editing
functions using a professional video editing software.
- Cut dialogue, action,
comedy, chases, fights, interviews, documentaries, music videos, and
multi-camera projects, as well as complete an entire audio mix using tools available
within the editing software.
- Perfect split edits: match
angles, cut for reactions, and use cutaways and inserts effectively in dialogue
utilizing advanced features of the software.
- Fix screen direction
errors through advanced techniques.
- Utilize editing techniques
to improve editing skills and become a more effective storyteller.
- Add various types of
transitions and video and audio effects.
- Apply advanced editing
techniques and superimpose images.
- Comply with copyright
rules and guidelines.
- Demonstrate the ability to
plan and deliver a broadcast production.
- Produce, direct, and/or
edit professional quality videos in a non-linear environment modeled after
industry standards for software selection.
- Finalize productions,
including a €œhow to € presentation, a public service announcement and/or a
commercial.
