Course Title
Fundamentals of Administrative Technologies
Course Description
This course builds on the core business skills and will provide students with the concepts, principles, and attitudes needed to understand how an office is operated and managed in a rapidly changing global environment. The integration of state-of-the-art personal computing is done throughout the course.

Office Procedures - Competencies include: general computer skills, correspondence, customer service, filing, organization, proofreading, reading comprehension, scheduling, terminology, and telephone/voice mail etiquette.

Telephone Etiquette - Competencies include: communicating with and perceiving customers needs; utilizing listening skills; understanding call control; applying ethics and integrity; managing time; and product presentation and sales.

Microsoft Word Fundamentals - Competencies include: document creation, formatting, and page layout; revising and printing; utilizing shortcuts, and general knowledge of the software.

Microsoft Excel Fundamentals - Competencies include: creating, maintaining, and formatting worksheets; utilizing formulas, what-if analysis, and functions; and creating charts.
