Course Title

Aircraft Electronics Hazardous Materials Handling

Course Description

This course is an in depth study of the handling procedures for hazardous materials. Students will learn proper handling procedures, storage and labeling requirements, proper disposal, and develop an understanding of the Material Safety Data Sheet.

Knowledge and Skills

*The student will be able to identify basic facts and terminology about hazardous materials and fluids to include:

 

·         OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1200

·         Current MSDS

·         Chemical health hazards

·         Physical health hazards

·         Explosive health hazards

·         Labeling requirements

·         Workplace communication programs

·         Types of hazardous materials and fluids

·         Hazardous Waste Management
