Board Takes Step To Form Panhandle Tech Center District
Following the passage of resolutions by all Texas County school districts,
the Oklahoma State Board of Career and Technology Education today
called for a vote by the people in each of the nine public school
districts to form a technology center in the Oklahoma panhandle.
The vote to determine each school district’s participation
in the technology center will take place May 9.

Program
Statistics show that after serving “time” the rising
number of young offenders in Oklahoma often return to old neighborhoods,
old friends, drugs and crime. A high percentage of them don’t

for entry into the workforce or have a high school diploma or a General
Educational Development (GED) certificate.

Each year more teachers are leaving the profession than entering
it. Yet, Oklahomans have saved more than $1.6 million through retaining
its CareerTech instructors during the past five years. This is due,

Cooperative Alliance Pilot Project
The Oklahoma State Board of Career and Technology Education on Thursday
approved a new pilot project that will create a more student-centered
collaboration between the technology centers and higher education
institutions. This follows similar approval in March by the Oklahoma
State Regents for Higher Education.

The Oklahoma State Board of Career and Technology Education today
at its board meeting heard results of the department’s annual
report on remediation for technology center students enrolled at
public colleges in Oklahoma. This is the second year the department

Education (OSRHE) Annual Remediation Report.

The United States will need to replace 375,000 bridges as part of
$360 billion spent on roadwork. Mass transit will need $72 billion
worth of construction. The nation’s infrastructure will use

in construction.
