National DECA Week Highlights Marketing Student Activities |

Throughout the year, DECA members will participate in numerous activities. Many high school DECA chapters develop and implement a DECA Week Promotional Campaigns in the local business community, in their high school, or in an elementary school The activities are designed to develop well educated citizens who have self-confidence, self-esteem, leadership ability and an understanding of the American Free Enterprise System. " DECA Chapters are self-supporting, with members paying chapter, state association and national membership dues," Dilbeck said. DECA is the CareerTech student organization supporting marketing education, and provides students the opportunity to building vital leadership and teamwork skills as well as the option to compete in a wide variety of skill building competitive activities. The association of marketing students is the only student organization operating in 50 states, the four U.S. territories and Canada that prepares students for productive careers in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. It serves as an integral part of the marketing education classroom instructional program, and has 180,000 members nationally.
