| Special Restrictions | Targeting Youthful Offenders before the age of 22. Must have minimum language and math skill levels of 5.1 as measured by TABE. Must be healthy and able bodied with correctable vision. Also, some older offenders are selected after mechanical aptitudes testing. |
| Course Description | Components of the program include hands on welding training techniques in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW and Oxy Fuel cutting competencies, blue print reading, estimation, project management and computer literacy. Training is for work in the manufacturing and construction cluster. College co-enrollment possible. |
| Certifications | ODCTE Competency Certifications in Shielded Metal
Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Core Arc Welding,
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Training through the following programs is also available: NEFE Personal Finance Planning, Computer Literacy for Youth Offender’s, Life Skills/Issues Component. GED concurrent enrollment is offered if needed. ACT WorkKeys Career Readiness Certification |
