FLC Information

Parking

Buses: Lot M (West of Meinders School of Business)
Vans/Cars: Lot H (North of Freede Wellness Center)

The Meinders School of Business is located on Makinley between 25th and 27th Street. Blackwelder is NOT a through street to Meinders.

It is Fall Break on campus so OCU will not be ticketing; however, please use the designated lots until they are full. There is a circle drive in front of the Meinders School of business for drop off purposes only.

When calling the hotel reservations department, mention the "DECA Conference" in order to receive the discounted room rates. PO's are accepted but must advise when making reservations. Rate will be on a space and rate available basis after the cut-off date of 10/1/11.

Please note: The contract rate includes a complimentary breakfast.

Registration

Click here to access the online registration. Registration will open on September 13, 2011 and close on October 4, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. Conference registration fee is $25 per person. Each chapter will be limited to 10 student attendees.

Dress Code

  • Wear chapter t-shirt and khaki pants.
  • No jeans, sweat pants, flip flops, or sandals.
  • Students will be walking and moving around so they need to dress accordingly.

Community Service Project

This year the DECA State Action Team has designated the "Oklahoma Autism Alliance" as the Statewide DECA Community Service Project.

We will once again be conducting the "Links of Love" fundraising project for Fall Leadership Conference. Participating chapters should sell stars for their chains which will then be displayed at FLC. The chapter raising the most money will be awarded a special prize. All pledge amounts should be emailed to Debbie Hamble at dhamb@okcareertech.org no later than October 13th so that a winner can be determined.

Fundraising activities will continue throughout the year and final totals should be emailed to the Oklahoma DECA State offices by January 23, 2012. Special recognition will be given at State Leadership Conference (CDC) to the chapter raising the most money for this worthwhile charity.
