Brenda Cox inducted as OkNTHS Star of Excellence
Brenda Cox, a retired Central Tech College and Career Counselor, receives the 2013 Star of Excellence and will be inducted into the Oklahoma National Technical Honor Society (OkNTHS) Star of Excellence in August at the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education Summer Conference in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The OkNTHS Star of Excellence was created in 2006 to honor those who have made contributions and served to provide and promote scholarships, career and technology education and NTHS at the local, state and national level.
After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Northeastern State University, Cox spent 44 years in the field of education. For the past 13 years, she served as the College and Career Counselor at Central Tech before retiring in February.
“We have outstanding students and I couldn’t be more proud to assist them in any way possible,” Cox said. “Students are the most important assets in education.”
Cox’s accomplishments as an educator include assisting with the induction of more than 1,000 students into NTHS, and initiating NTHS national policies.
Cox also worked with students in preparing scholarship applications and enrolling in college credit with various colleges through cooperative agreements. Her aid has resulted in millions of dollars in scholarships and thousands of college credit hours for students.
Central Tech congratulates Brenda Cox for achieving this honor.
