National Youth Safety Video Contest
Deadline: March 1, 2014
CareerSafe®, Safety Education for America's Future™, is sponsoring the 2013-14 National Youth Safety Video Contest. Students across the country are challenged to create a two-minute video demonstrating safety in the workplace. The contest will kick off on October 15, 2013 and all submissions should be sent into CareerSafe by March 1, 2014. The winning students will receive a SkillsUSA Prize Pack as well as a scholarship up to $2,500 and winning school will receive a prize up to $5,000. Summer Leadership Institute Scholarship
Deadline: April 4, 2014
The SkillsUSA Oklahoma Alumni & Friends Association will award two $150 scholarships to attend the annual Summer Leadership Institute (SLI). Scholarships are awarded to a high school candidate and/or a Trade & Industrial Education "new" instructor. These scholarships were established from a grant awarded to SkillsUSA Oklahoma Alumni & Friends Association. Download the application today as it is due into the SkillsUSA Oklahoma state office by April 4, 2014.
Lowe's continues a fifth year of generosity with another round of SkillsUSA grants in 2014. Two grant opportunities will be available.
The Schools In Need Grant program is to identify schools classrooms or instructors who have a very basic need to improve the quality of students' education experience. Grants will be awarded ranging from $2,500 to $25,000. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2013.
CareerSafe Grants will be awarded to schools in the form of vouchers that allow students to take an online assessment and earn their OSHA 10-hour Construction or General Industry safety credential. Vouchers will be awarded based on SkillsUSA membership and use of vouchers in previous years. new applications will receive priority over schools applying for consecutive years; however, all are encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is December 1, 2013. Vouchers will be awarded in January 2014.

Educated and Skilled to Lead America Video Competition
Deadline: November 15, 2013
"Educated and Skilled to Lead America" is SkillsUSA's theme this year and the students' challenge will be to create a video that showcases how members are becoming educated. The video could show what their classroom or lab looks like, what they are learning, and their specific skills and how they show them off. This is their opportunity to tell their story.
Only currently registered SkillsUSA high school and college/postsecondary student members can enter and membership will be verified for each entry. The work can be done by an individual, a team or an entire class.
There is no limit on the number of students who can work on a video. The video must be entered under one chapter name, and there will be only one prize awarded for the winning video. SkillsUSA and Lowe’s sponsor a national conference pin and T-shirt design competition that is open to all dues-paying student members of the organization. The winning designs will become the official pin or T-shirt for the 2015 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. The pin and T-shirt will be produced by the SkillsUSA Store.
Oklahoma had the winning pin designs in both 2004 and 2009!! Rules are in the membership kit and are also posted on the SkillsUSA website at: http://www.skillsusa.org/compete/pindesign.shtml
NOTE: This is separate and distinct from the SkillsUSA Championships Pin Design (State Conference) and T-shirt Design (State Conference) competitions. It has no impact on a student's eligibility to compete.
