RULES and REGULATIONS
From this competition, we will select a secondary team to represent Oklahoma at the National SkillsUSA Championships in Kansas City. Therefore, we will follow the national rules and regulations and content as closely as possible. We want our contestants to be prepared to compete at the national level. The national rules, Contest Guidelines, can be found on the national web site – http://www.skillsusa.org/downloads/PDF/contests/MobileRobotics.pdf

Instructors will not be allowed in the competition or pit area at any time.

The Robotics Technician Technical math problem will be omitted from the State Competition.

One of the engineering change order rounds will be omitted from the State Competition.

One very important difference from nationals is that teams must bring your robot already built, programmed, and ready to compete at state. The assembly period will be omitted from the State Competition.

EQUIPMENT and MATERIALS

Teams will provide the following:

1. Robot built, programmed, and ready to compete.

2. SkillsUSA VEX Robotics Kit (only parts listed on bill of materials listed in the Mobile Robotics Team Guide).

3. Engineer's Notebook.

4. Laptop with licensed VEX programming software (for the Cortex microcontroller) and presentation software.

5. Safety glasses.

6. Allen wrench set.

7. Power strip and extension cord.

MOVE OUT

The contest area must be picked up and all tape removed from the floor. This is the responsibility of instructors and contestants.

INDUSTRY AWARDS

Please contact your Awards Chairman for details and to let him/her know of industry awards you have secured.  I know many of you have already been hard at work securing the awards. These awards should be labeled with the name, address, and contact person for the donating industry so that the contestant they are awarded to can send an appropriate expression of his or her appreciation.
