Competitive Event Modification - MS
* Students in Grades 5-9. Ninth-grade students must choose to compete in all Level I or all Level II events. They cannot compete at both levels.

-Problem: GEAR and RACK model -Teachers: Are required to bring a computer for students to use for this event with a 3D CAD software loaded, the student must be able to operate and demonstrate to the judges if the of check in to help speed the student progress. -Eligibility: Maximum of two entries per chapter. 3. Career PrepCoordinator: No coordinator at this time. If we do not find one this event will not be offered this year.
-2013 students will choose one of these careers: -Industrial Designer -LAN Technician -Biomedical Engineer -Traffic Engineer -Photographer -Turn in resume and cover letter. -Complete job application on site (bring blue or black pen). -Top ten finalist will be interviewed. -Eligibility: Entries are limited to three individual entries per chapter. |

-Design and produce a trifold brochure that promotes the chapter, an effective sponsor support request on chapter letterhead, and an 8 1/2" x 11" glossy, two-sided postcard promoting TSA's current national service project. -2013 Theme: TSA, Organized Chaos. -Participants produce and submit an album of digital photographs. The album must be submitted on a USB drive storage device. -CONSENT FORM REQUIRED FOR ALL IMAGES. -NOTE: There will be no finalist posting and there will be no on-site problem. -Finalists are not assigned a task onsite. -Eligibility: Entries are limited to three individual entries per chapter. |

18. Inventions and InnovationsCoordinator: Artie Lowery, 405-343-1512 Participants investigate and determine the need for an invention or innovation of a device, system or process and brainstorm possible solutions to determine the best idea for the invention or innovation.
-Only one participant is required to check entry in. -If interviews are possible, three participants must be present during interview session per National TSA rules. -Multimedia time limits: Minimum length-two minutes, Maximum length-four minutes. -Multimedia presentation must be saved on a USB flash drive. -Instructions necessary for the operation of devices must be clearly displayed. -Eligibility: Entries are limited to three group entries per chapter. |

-All structures will be designed and constructed on site. -The length will be drawn and announced after all contestants have checked in. - In 2013 structures will be judged by efficiency as outlined in the National TSA guidelines -Oklahoma TSA will provide 20' of 1/8" X 1/8" balsa wood, two sheets of 11" X 17" grid paper, and two pieces of wax paper. -Contestants must furnish their own wood cutter -Glue-see national rules -Pencil -12" ruler -Emery board -Straight pins -Simple clamps -Pin board to hold structure while drying. -Must have Pitsco insta-cure thin glue #W58923 or Pitsco insta-cure + gap filling glue #W56215, Pitsco insta-set #W57513, and Pitsco un-cure #W57512. NO OTHER GLUE WILL BE ALLOWED. -All tools and supplies must fit in a single box that measures 12" X 6" X 4". -Tools that do not fit into the box will not be permitted on the competition floor. -All structures are destructively tested using a test block that is 2 3/4" in width, 4" long, and having a 1/2" hole in the center of the top face. -Structures will be tested the same day they are built. There will be no waiting period. -The center of the structure must permit passage for a 1/2" test rod. -Structures that do not permit the passage will not be tested. -Please refer to the National TSA Competitive Events Guide for all other guidelines. -Eligibility: Entries are limited to one team of two students per chapter. |

-There will be an online test and the top ten will compete onstite. -Finalists will report at the designated time and have an hour to complete a drawing problem on site. -The problem will consist of converting an Isometric drawing to a three view engineering drawing and converting a three view engineering drawing to an Isometric drawing. -Each participant is required to have a #2 pencil with eraser, 12" scale and compass. -Eligibility: Entries are limited to two individuals per chapter. |

-Develope an E-rated game that is highly artistic educational and has social value. -A working interactive game will be sumbitted for evaluation. -The game must execute directly from the DVD (CD's will not be accepted) -No semi finals or finals at state conference. Participants will turn in their game on DVD and their notebooks to be evaluated. -Eligibility: Entries are limited to one team per chapter but there is no limit to the amount of team members. |
