Opening General Session
The Opening General Session will be held in the Tulsa Cox Convention Center, Exhibit Hall C, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2015. This kick-off session will feature a keynote address from the ODCTE State Director Dr. Marcie Mack. The State Superintendent’s Award along with a handful of other awards will also be presented during this session.
OkACTE Awards Session
Closing out the first day of conference, the second general session will be held from 3:40 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2015. This 50 minute session will feature OkACTE awards including the Gold Star School Awards, Francis Tuttle award and others. The OkACTE Executive Director will conclude this session with an annual address.
Award Recipients and Nominees are asked to sit front and center of the stage to help maintain the pace of the program. Division honorees include Outstanding Educator, New Professional, Outstanding New Teacher, Kaleidoscope, Outstanding Teacher in Community Service, OATC Distinguished Achievement, OkACTE Distinguished Service and Teacher of the Year. Other awards that may be presented include Support Staff Member of the Year, the Arch Alexander Award along with the Francis Tuttle Award. Silver Key Recipients will be honored at divisional award ceremonies.

First-Timer Orientation for New Teachers/New Members
The First-Timer Orientation is scheduled Monday, August 3, 8:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. at the Tulsa Cox Convention Center, Conference Hall A. All new employees in the CareerTech system (except teachers who have their own division orientation) and employees unfamiliar with Summer Conference are encouraged to attend this session.
The purpose of this orientation is to explain the Oklahoma CareerTech system, the benefits of membership in the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education (OkACTE), the Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE) along with the format and purpose of Summer Conference.
The Oklahoma Association of Minorities in Career and Technology Education (OAMCTE) annual reception is tentatively scheduled Monday, August 3, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Location TBA. The annual OAMCTE business meeting is tentatively scheduled Monday, August 3, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Location TBA.
OCLA Annual Meeting
The Oklahoma Council for Local Administrators (OCLA) annual meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Doubletree Hotel, Room TBA. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased no later than Friday, July 24. Tickets will not be sold at Summer Conference. Tickets may be purchased by selecting OCLA annual meeting when completing your division registration form and including an additional $30 with your registration fee. Registration for this meeting includes lunch. A ticket for the luncheon will be placed in your registration packet.
OkACTE Leadership Seminar
The OkACTE Leadership Seminar is scheduled Tuesday, August 4, 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, Manchester Room. Dinner will be served. Each division should send the President, President-elect, past President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Reporter. OkACTE would like for any advisor who has never attended the Leadership Seminar to attend.
Voting Procedure for OkACTE President-Elect
The 2015 voting procedure for the OkACTE President-Elect allows OkACTE members to vote for the candidate of their choice upon payment of their membership and division dues on-line through the registration website. Information about each candidate will be www.okacte.org once they are announced. Members will have until 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 3, to cast their vote online. The results will be announced during the second general session Monday afternoon.
