Projects and Unique Attributions
Metro Tech offers Innovative programs to meet the needs of a diverse urban community. Examples include: Aviation Maintenance Technology has placed over 800 students earning $30 million at Tinker Air Force Base's Air Logistics Center. Since the partnership began in 2000, student salaries have exceeded $120 million. The OSU-OKC Alliance allows students to co-enroll for college credit while attending classes at Metro Tech.
The Practical Nursing 1 Plus 1 program allows practical nursing students to enter the second year of an Associate of Science (AS) nursing degree program at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC), OSU-OKC, and Redlands College in partnership with INTEGRIS Baptist and Southwest Medical Centers.
The Biomedical Sciences Academy prepares students to enter college engineering programs. Pro-Tech provides an OSU-Okmulgee Automotive Technology Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program at the South Bryant Campus. This degree is offered in partnership with OSUOKC and Metro Technology Centers.
Metro Career Academy (MCA) offers occupational training and diplomas to high school dropouts and alternative students. MCA is a full service community school that links students with critical, supportive services in a positive learning environment that allows students to learn, grow and succeed.
A new state of the art, LEED certified facility is currently being constructed on the Springlake. Several new programs will be offered at the new facility including Entrepreneurship/Small Business Management, Environmental Studies/Horticulture and Vision Care.
Secondary students living in the technology center district who attend a public, private, parochial, charter or home school are eligible to attend tuition free.
