Projects and Unique Attributes

Metro Tech offers innovative programs to meet the needs of our community. Examples include:

Project SEARCH TM --an employment training program at Chesapeake Energy Corporation, assisting young adults with disabilities to achieve and maintain permanent employment.

A Pre-Engineering program at Northeast Academy designed to improve high school student’s skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Aviation Maintenance Technology has placed over 1200 students earning $50 million at the Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base.

The OSU-OKC Alliance--allows students to co-enroll earning college credit while attending classes at Metro Tech.

Metro Career Academy a full service community school housed in a Gold LEED certified facility; offers occupational training and diplomas to dropouts and alternative students in a flexible learning environment.

Metro Technology Centers received the prestigious Oklahoma Quality Foundation Award of Excellence, Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers Gold Star Award for the 11th consecutive year and the Award for Energy Stewardship from Energy Education.

Secondary students living in the technology center district are eligible to attend tuition free.

District Population and Partner Schools

District population is 288,920 based on 2010 census data. School districts served include Crooked Oak and Oklahoma City.
