Projects and Unique Attributions

Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) offers career majors and courses in Construction, Biomedical Sciences, Business and Information Technology, Health Sciences, Practical Nursing, Culinary Arts, Early Care, Cosmetology, Industrial Technology, Machining, Welding, Pre-Engineering, Auto Service, Collision Repair, and Vocational Orientation.

PTC participates in the TCTW initiative. PTC's programs for populations with unique needs include SHARE (dropout recovery), New Beginning, GED/ABE, Supported Employment, OSSM, and an outreach specialist.

PTC also has academic math and science teachers available to students in addition to an Education Enhancement Center (EEC) and is designed to support students in CareerTech education by providing assistance in basic and advanced skills for their career training.

PTC supports economic development efforts through business and industry programs, including Agricultural Business Management, Bid Assistance, Business Incubator, Management Development, Industry Training, Manufacturing Extension Agent, Safety Training, Self-Employment Training, Small Business Management, and short-term training classes for adults.

Secondary students living in the technology center district who attend a public, private, parochial, charter, or home school are eligible to attend tuition free. Financial aid is also available to adult students who qualify.

District Population and Partner Schools

District population is 50,725 based on 2000 census data. School districts served include *Billings, Blackwell, Braman, *Deer Creek-Lamont, *Frontier, Kildare, McCord, Newkirk, Peckham, *Ponca City, *Shidler, *Tonkawa and Woodland.
