A tentative agenda has been placed on the T&I website.
Please go to http://www.okcareertech.org/ti/nta/index.htm to pre-register on-line. This will allow us to plan for the correct number of attendees. There will be a $25 registration fee for this workshop. You may choose to pay in advance with a check or money order or on-site with a check, money order or cash. Make all checks/money orders payable to the T&I Association. On site check-in will be held in the Tuttle Seminar Center. STIPEND
You will receive a stipend for attending this conference. We realize this stipend may not cover all of your expenses and hope your school will offer financial support as well. Your stipend is at a higher rate the first day to offset your registration fee. The stipend scale is as follows:
Day 1 . . . . . . . . .$50, $75, or $100 (Paid by the county location of your school)
Day 2 . . . . . . . . .$50
Day 3. . . . . . . . . $50
All new teachers will receive a Stipend Request Form at the Academy. It must be completed and returned to us on the final day.
You are responsible for making your own reservation and paying your lodging charges. You may visit the Stillwater Visitor’s Bureau online at www.visitstillwater.org for a full listing of hotels and their contact information. Upon making your reservation please mention that you will be in town for a conference at the Oklahoma State Dept. of CareerTech. You should receive the state rate based on availability at that hotel. You may also inquire with individual hotels whether they will accept a school purchase order for payment.
Dress for the academy is “professional casual.” This means no sweats, sport shorts, or jeans. The idea is to be comfortable while maintaining a professional workshop atmosphere. Remember it’s difficult to keep the temperature comfortable for everyone, so you may want to bring a jacket or a sweater.
We realize that it can be difficult managing the details of being away from home and school, so we appreciate your special efforts. We also appreciate your school’s support in making this opportunity available to you. We believe these 3 days will prove to be an investment in your future as a Trade and Industrial Education educator. You will receive materials that will help support your teaching efforts.
A Form 8 Statement of Qualifications must be on file in the Trade and Industrial Education office for all new teachers before any certification application can be processed. The state staff will determine whether the application meets established standards. If you have not submitted a Form 8 application please obtain and complete one to bring with you. In addition, you must also have a T&I teaching certificate. If you have not already taken care of this you will need to bring the appropriate application for a teaching license or certificate with you. These forms are can be accessed from our website at www.okcareertech.org/ti.
Following is a checklist for completion of these forms:
