Communications and Marketing Office
This department works to educate the public and private sectors at the local, state and national levels about Oklahoma's diverse CareerTech System. This is accomplished by combining marketing strategies, coordinating media exposure and collaboration with the Communications and Marketing Officer's Council, comprised of technology center communications and marketing officers statewide.

Governance
Oklahoman’s CareerTech agency is governed by the State Board of Career and Technology Education, working closely with the State Department of Education and the State Regents for Higher Education to provide a seamless educational system for all Oklahoman's.
Members of the Oklahoma Career and Technology Education Board of Education are appointed by the governor and confirmed by State Senate.
The state’s CareerTech nine-member board is comprised of State Superintendent of Public Instruction who serves as the chairperson of the board. Two members of the State Board of Education are also appointed to the board along with a representative of each congressional district and one member at large.
The State Director of Career and Technology Education serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member and executive officer of the board.
Marcie Mack became state director of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education on Jan. 16, 2015.
