Student Services Specialist

 Primary Function: 

This position reports to the Campus Director and is assigned responsibilities that will result in secondary and post-secondary students achieving academic and professional growth, thus increasing student employability skills and placement.  This position is responsible for the positive promotion of KTC programs, services and activities by organizing and delivering an effective academic and advisement program.  This includes, but is not limited to, serving as testing liaison, providing academic enhancement services, placement services, recruitment, student activities, active participation in advising students in CareerTech Student Organizations and the National Technical Honor Society.  The successful candidate will provide guidance to students in obtaining financial assistance, develop and maintain professional relationships with high school administrators, counselors, faculty, local adult assistance agencies, and local civic organizations. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a minimum of three (3) years experience in vocational education administration/instruction, technical management and/or managing a business or industry and/or a combination of these experiences.  Applicants must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and be knowledgeable of local and area business and industry.  A Bachelors degree and Career Readiness Certification is preferred.   Travel and flexible work schedule is required.

Starting Date:                         October 15, 2014  (10-month position)

Salary:                                    Based on KTC Salary Schedule.  New employee will be employed

initially on a Temporary Contract.
