Course Construction Trades
Location Taft Skills Center - Jess Dunn CC - Taft, Oklahoma
Average Training Time 720 – 840 hours. The program is performance based. The student must pass competency tests and demonstrate mastery of required tasks.
Special Restrictions Must have high school diploma or GED prior to enrollment. Must have minimum language and math skill levels of 5.0 as measured by TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education).
Course Description Utilize National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Curriculum in Construction Trades include: Core, Carpentry Level 1. The program will provide students with knowledge to empower themselves and elevate skills in four areas.

  1. Technical skills in construction trades.
  2. Academic skills through WorkKeys, KeyTrain and applied reading, writing and math used in real world applications. Potential to earn a work readiness credential – the Career Readiness Certificate.
  3. Life skills and employability training using computer programs
  4. Safety training
Certifications NCCER certificates include Core, Carpentry Level 1, Carpentry Framing, Finishing, 10 hour OSHA Safety Card, Work Rediness Credential - WorkKeys Certification.
