This major prepares students as line cooks who are responsible for the preparation of breakfast foods, sandwiches, salads, garnishes, and main meal items. Line cooks work in restaurants and may assist with planning menus and ordering supplies. Instruction incorporates kitchen fundamentals such as safety, sanitation, and kitchen equipment with more advanced training in the preparing foods in quantity.
