This course will provide students with a strong foundation for placement in the Medical Office using machine transcribers. Emphasis is on developing transcription skills from voice media into usable medical communication. Correct formatting of medical documents, medical definitions, and correct spelling of medical terminology are also emphasized.

-Determine the correct usage of the following: numbers, measurements, test results, visual acuity, catheter sizes, cranial nerves, drugs, and injections
-Determine the correct punctuation
-Utilize correct sentence structure

Letter Transcription
-Identify the correct placement of the physician, typist, and dictators initials
-Determine the correct heading format for the continuation page headers
-Identify the correct placement for typists initials, enclosures, and copy notations
-Utilize the modified block format for letters
