Family & Consumer Sciences
Field Experience
This course will provide students opportunities to observe classroom settings of various age levels throughout the school year. During extended field experience, students will work with small groups, prepare and present lessons and implement evaluations of activities while working under an experienced professional teacher.

- Identify the developmental stages of learners and choose appropriate instructional objectives.

- Recognize effective teaching strategies.

- Plan and deliver a lesson for all learners.

- Identify components of effective classroom climate, management, and discipline.

- Describe effective use of technology in the classroom.

- Identify different assessment techniques.

- Provide developmentally appropriate learning activities for groups and individual learners.

- Accommodate major physical, social, and personal challenges that impede successful learning.
