This course describes safety procedures required in the workplace and how to handle emergencies.

- Identify fire hazards in the kitchen
- Control fires by using alarms and extinguishers
- Use a fire emergency plan
- Identify common accidents and injuries in the kitchen
- Use basic safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries
- Learn first aid and emergency procedures
- Understand safety as an ongoing process
Completion of Learning Activity Packets and various other instructional materials.

Written tests, assignments and performance tests.
