This course presents information about maxillary denture opposing natural dentition, immediate dentures, crossbite dentures, tooth repair, simple denture repair, and denture realignment. The student will be able to demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology within the area of pediatric dentistry and pharmacology at the course completion. Additionally, demonstration of the knowledge of dental terminology within the field of pediatric dentistry, pharmacology, emergency care, and business procedures is an expected course outcome.

Unit 1 = Fabrication

-Lesson 1 - Maxillary
Denture Opposing Natural Dentition
-Summarize the situation when you would be asked to fabricate a denture opposing natural dentition.
-Arrange maxillary denture teeth to function against existing natural teeth.
-Complete the fabrication process for the a maxillary denture.

Lesson 2 - Immediate Denture.
-Describe the purposes, advantages, and disadvantages of an immediate denture.
-Arrange maxillary denture teeth to fabricate an immediate denture.
-Complete the fabrication process for the immediate denture.

Lesson 3 -Maxillary and Mandibular Immediate Denture.
-Apply existing denture skills to fabricate maxillary and mandibular immediate denture.
-Complete the fabrication process for a maxillary and mandibular denture.

Lesson 4 - Crossbite Denture.
-State the reason for setting teeth in crossbite occlusion.
-Describe the procedure for setting teeth in crossbite occlusion.
-Compare and contrast the differences between a normaldenture set up and an crossbite set up.
-Arrange teeth in crossbite occlusion.
-Complete the fabrication process for a maxillary and mandibular denture in crossbite occlusion.

-Summarize the need to do a tooth repair.
-Explain the process for a tooth repair.
