Content is designed to provide an overview of the foundations in radiography and the practitioner's role in the healthcare delivery system. Principles, practices and policies of the healthcare organizations are examined and discussed in addition to the professional responsibilities of the radiographer.

Satisfactory completion of Anatomy and Physiology and college general education courses are required.
-Discuss the relationship between institutional administrative personnel and radiology services.
-Identify and discuss the responsibilities and relationships of all personnel in the radiology department.
-Explain patient services available in the radiology department.
-Differentiate between programmatic and institutional accreditation.
-Define accreditation, credentialing,certification, licensure and regulations.
-Explain the purposes of accreditation and certification and identify the agencies involved.
-Discuss the general employment outlook for the graduate radiographer.
-Discuss career advancement and opportunities for the radiographer.
-Identify the benefits of continuing education as related to improved patient care and professional enhancement.
